Ingredients for Baking Chicken Shawarma

  • Boneless chicken thighs|laps
  • Medium-sized of cabbage{cut into thin size}
  • 2 big tomatoes {cut into thin size}
  • 1 medium sized onion {cut into thin size}
  • Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tablespoon for fresh ground black pepper
  • Salt
  • Flatbread {pita bread}
  • Sliced lettuce
  • Tomato slice

Marinade

  • 1 large minced garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 teaspoons curry
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp ground cardamon
  • 1 chicken seasoning cube
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon of Salt
  • 1 tsp All spice powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable or olive oil

Procedures for Making Shawarma

1. Wash and cut the vegetables into thin size and cut the chicken, meat, or beef into thin size and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, the spices, lemon juice, garlic, and seasonings, 3/4 tsp salt, and little black pepper, add the spice marinade on the chicken or meat. Stir till all the chicken pieces are evenly coated in the marinade or are well mixed.

3. Preheat the oven to 350°F

4. Cover with a plastic wrap or a tight lid and leave in the fridge for at least 20 minutes or more.

5. Grill The Shawarma- lay the Chicken pieces on a parchment-lined baking pan.

6. Bake until chicken is golden and cooked well, for about 30 minutes.

7. Let chicken rest on cutting board for 5 minutes, then thinly slice. 

8. Place a pita bread or flatbread on a clean flat surface and cut into two equal sizes and spread the chicken, meat, beef on top.

9. Mix some mayonnaise and ketchup together and spread on top of the chicken.

10. Then, place sliced tomato, onion, cabbage, and lettuce on the pita bread.

11. Roll up, and enjoy.

NOTE: if you want to warm it up a bit, place it on a heated pan for 3-5minutes, or a microwave.
