Entry Requirements For University Of Bristol Undergraduate Scholarships 2023

The standard requirement for our undergraduate courses is three A-levels (or equivalent qualifications). We do not give preference to applicants taking four A-levels, although we welcome the breadth that a fourth subject taken to AS-level can bring to an application.

We accept both pre-reform and reformed A-levels on an equivalent basis. 

There is no requirement for AS-levels, and we do not give preference to students who have taken AS-levels as standalone qualifications.   

We accept A-levels taken early in accordance with the relevant course admissions statement, subject to the following condition. 

We normally expect you to have taken three A-levels (or equivalent qualifications) in one sitting. If you haven’t, please ask your referee to explain the reason for this in their reference so we can take it into account when considering your application. 

Subjects For University Of Bristol Undergraduate Scholarships 2023

Any requirements for specific subjects at A-level are outlined in the relevant  course details. Some courses make different offers for certain subject combinations. Find out more by reading your course admissions statement. 

We sometimes ask for an essay-based or science subject. The relevant  admissions statement tells you which subjects we accept in each category. 

Bristol accepts native language A-levels as part of your A-level offering. 

We do not accept General Studies, Global Perspectives or Critical Thinking as part of your A-level offering. 

Bristol treats Mathematics and Further Mathematics as separate subjects. 

Results

  • We do not take unit grade information into account when making selection decisions or in offer conditions. 

Resits

  • Some courses have restrictions on applicants resitting their A-levels.

Science practicals

  • We expect applicants taking a reformed Biology, Chemistry or Physics A-level in England to sit and pass the practical element. If you are unable to take the practical, please contact us after submitting your application.

Access to HE Diploma qualifications For University Of Bristol Undergraduate Scholarships 2023

We need to know the exact name of your qualification, which modules you are taking at Level 2 and Level 3, and which modules are graded. Please also make sure you list the awarding body; if you are unsure about this, please check with your college. 

We list our Access to HE requirements on the relevant course page, including course titles and a number of credits at Distinction or Merit.

If your course title is slightly different from those listed, please contact us to check whether we accept that course. If it has insufficient content to meet a specific subject requirement, you may need to provide an additional qualification.

When is the deadline? University Of Bristol Undergraduate Scholarships 2023

There are two applications rounds for this scholarship:

Round One Deadline: 2023. Successful applicants will be informed via email by 26 April 2019.

Round Two Deadline: 2022. Successful applicants will be informed via email by 2022.

Please Note: You will automatically be considered for rounds 1 and 2, so there is no need to submit your application again if you are not made an offer in round 1.
